Interactive Lion has launched version 1.0 of Bid Capsule, a two-sided marketplace built as a layer over Lead Capsule and Offer Capsule.
Bid Capsule runs three markets: lead inventory, advertising positions including pre-roll, mid-roll and post-roll video, banners and text links, and redirect and pop traffic. Sellers publish the price below which they will not sell. Buyers enter the most they are willing to pay. A proxy auction settles every unit at the clearing price, so a winning buyer is charged what it took to beat the next bid rather than their maximum, and a seller finds out what their inventory is actually worth rather than what a rate card once said.
Exclusivity is priced as its own dimension, from fully exclusive to a single buyer through to non-exclusive, and the vendor declares both the tier and how many of those sales the marketplace may make. Aged data trades separately in the Bid Capsule lead store, at price points banded by vertical, times sold and data age.
Signing up is free, as a buyer, a seller or both. The buy side is prepaid throughout, with no invoicing and no credit, so a seller is never delivering against an unfunded promise. The marketplace makes its money on a published processing margin inside the buyer's bid, and Lead Capsule and Offer Capsule customers trade at a lower rate.
